United by a shared goal to improve the agricultural sector in the Philippines and to advance innovative, science-based agricultural solutions that can help farmers protect their harvest and improve food quality, Bayer Crop Science Philippines Inc. (BCS) and the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB) have inked an academe-industry cooperation agreement aimed towards developing and strengthening collaborative research, internship, and training activities.

On August 22, 2024, Bayer Crop Science Philippines Inc. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Philippine Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR), laying the foundation for a strategic partnership that focuses on critical areas such as agricultural research, capacity-building and knowledge-sharing, sustainability, and to scale up utilization of farming systems and solutions like Direct Seeded Rice (DSR). 

Bayer Crop Science underscored the potential of regenerative practices and solutions in driving farmer productivity and environmental sustainability during the 56th Pest Management Council of the Philippines (PMCP) Anniversary and Scientific Conference held in Caticlan, Boracay. During the annual Conference, Bayer Crop Science also awarded its inaugural Bayer Regenerative Initiative Award to the De La Salle University – Biological Control Research Unit for its innovative solution for cacao pest management.
